I would like to take this opportunity to provide some clarity regarding the selection process for the Middleton Cup and the Balcomb Trophy moving forward.

As you may be aware, Bowls England has made changes to the format of the Balcomb Trophy, with a particular focus on identifying players for international duty. In light of these changes, I want to make it clear that the Kent County selection policy will require any player selected for the Balcomb Trophy to have previously played in the Middleton Cup during the previous season.

I believe this approach will ensure a cohesive and competitive team, and I trust this policy will be understood by all players.
